Carl McDowell

Carl D. McDowell (actor/writer/producer) can currently be seen as “TTD” on HBO’s hit Ballers. Born on the gang-ridden streets of the south side of Chicago he had his share of problems with gangs and brushes with the law in his youth, but sports ultimately lead him in the opposite direction. Excelling in football, baseball, and wrestling at Harper High School, it was football that got him his ticket out of Chicago and ultimately into acting.

Excessive absences from his Theater Practicum class in college led him to the stage with the only way to pass the course by taking a role in Of Mice and Men. Little did he know he would be bitten by the acting bug, and it would later become his profession. Sidelined from sports by injury he made his way west to Hollywood. While working as a production assistant he started performing stand-up.

With some success as a stand-up comic, he made his way into audition rooms, and the rest they say is history. Additional credits include French Fries (TNT), Animal Kingdom (TNT), Togetherness (HBO), Roadies (Showtime), Scorpion (CBS), Shameless (Showtime), Sons of Anarchy (FX).
